From a girl who used to live in LA, if you don’t want to stress, be out on time because the LA traffic is not a joke, so bring a snack just in case. Also, plan plan plan! You don’t want to have to go from one side of the city to the other, and then back again.

1. Hollywood Walk of Fame
The number one spot to see all of the stars. On the ground at least. There are more than 2500 stars on the Walk of Fame. If you want to take a picture with a specific star, you can go on their website to browse and find the exact spot for that star.
You can also go up and down to find spots and shops to take a picture in front of.
Fun fact: Did you know that the celebs who get nominated for a star must pay for the stars themselves, and the price has gone up to $50.000.

2. Hollywood Sign
The iconic Hollywood Sign is a must, whether you want to see it up close, see the back of it, or just from afar, it’s definitely one place you need to stop at since it’s one of the most instagrammable places in Los Angeles. You can see this sign from a lot of different places. You can’t get to the sign, but pretty close though.
To see it semi-close you can go to Lake Hollywood Park, which will get you a great picture with the sign behind you. It’s also a beautiful park where you can stop for a picnic in between photoshoots.

If you want to see it from behind, one of the most well-known things to do, you’ll have to hike up the Runyon Canyon to get there.
And from afar, there are a lot of places to see it. One of the most used locations for that is Griffith Observatory. You also have two scenic viewpoints that will show you the sign from far away. But you can also take a great Instagram photo with Los Angeles as your background. They’re right next to each other, on one of them you can park and go up a few stairs for the view, and on the other one, you’ll park your car and have the whole view there.

3. Runyon Canyon Park
If you love to take a little (or big) hike, Runyon Canyon is one of the most famous hiking routes to visit. A lot of celebs hike that same path, so you might run into one or two. It’s also a great place to have an overlook over Los Angeles.

4. Griffith Observatory
Griffith Observatory is a huge building where you can go in, or you can take a look at the beautiful view over the entire city, especially during the night. It’s also a place where they’ve shot a lot of scenes from movies, so it’s a must-visit on your LA to-do list.
As mentioned above, you can also see the Hollywood Sign from Griffith Park.

5. Venice Beach Boardwalk
At Venice Beach, you have a lot of different places to find a lot of great la Instagram spots.
You have the muscle beach outdoor gym where stars such as Arnold Swartznegger have been training. You can pay for a day pass if you’d like to gym, but you can be outside and watch too.
You might’ve heard of the famous Skate Park, if you’re a skater it could be a lot of great pictures, but even if you’re not, there are always palm trees and great views there. Especially during sunset.
You can continue down to the beach where you have the famous rainbow Lifeguard tower which is one of the most instagrammable places in la, but there are also a lot of other towers to get your pictures with.
And of course, you have the whole boardwalk with different shops, and you can also rent a bike and cycle to Santa Monica Beach if you’re feeling up for it.

6. Venice Sign
The hanging Venice Sign with all the palm trees in the background is one of the most instagrammable places in Los Angeles because it makes a perfect picture for your IG. If you’re there during the evening, a sunset shot might be even prettier.
But you need to be careful of your surroundings since it’s in the middle of the street.

7. Venice Canals
Right next to Venice Beach, you have Venice Canals. There are also a lot of beautiful houses that frame the picture beautifully. You have bridges over all of them so you can get the perfect shot, and in most canals, you also see boats in the water.

8. Santa Monica Pier
Santa Monica Pier has a lot of different things you can do, and take pictures with/in front of. You have the two Santa Monica signs, the water, and the Pacific Park, where you can take cool pics in front of the different rollercoasters, especially during the evening when you have all of the neon lights behind you. It’s also a great place to have a little lunch or dinner, depending on when you get there.

9. Getty Center Museum
If you’re into free museums, this is the place for you. If not, you can also go there to see this very special-shaped building to take your IG shots in front of. There are a lot of people taking pictures in front of the checkered wall.

10. Beverly Hills Hotel
One of the most Instagrammable places in Los Angeles is the Beverly Hills Hotel. You can take a picture of one of the signs for the hotel, or if you might be staying there you can also take it by the pool and the famous pink daybed.

At Malibu Beach you have a lifeguard tower to take pics by, you also have the Malibu Pier or you can just lay on the beach, take a swim and cool down between the photoshoots.

While you’re already in Malibu, why not try one of the trendy places in LA? Take a detour and go eat at Nobu which is one of the most instagrammable restaurants in Los Angeles, because you might even catch a celebrity or two while you snack on some food and take your amazing IG pics.

15. Urban Lights / LACMA
This place right here really lights up your IG feed (see what I did there? no? oh okay..) Anyway, these lights are iconic and could be one of the coolest instagrammable places in Los Angeles, especially when they’re visited during the evening, which makes the best shots.

16. Sunset Strip
The famous Sunset Strip goes through West Hollywood and is a part of Sunset Boulevard, and is filled with restaurants, shops, and palm trees. While you’re driving around to other stops, a trip down Sunset strip will get you a pic or two.

17. TCL Chinese Theatre
You might get a ticket for a theatre or an IMAX movie while you’re there, otherwise, you can just take your IG pics outside, and also see some of the famous hand/footprints at the same time.

18. The Last Bookstore
Whether you like to read or not, this bookstore is huge and it has different parts of the bookstore where they have put the books in a cool way, which means you can get your cool Instagram pictures.

19. Angeles Crest Highway
This highway travels over the San Gabriel Mountains and has beautiful scenic views. You can pull over and get your IG pictures, you can also hike to Switzer Fall if you wanna add a waterfall to your feed. This could be one of my fav instagrammable places in Los Angeles because the view is just amazing.

20. Walt Disney Concert Hall
Another weirdly shaped iconic building in Los Angeles is the Walt Disney concert hall, but it also makes a great background for Instagram pictures.

21. The Americana
When I lived in Los Angeles, this was one of my favorite places to hang around at. First of all, Cheesecake Factory is there (my fav restaurant, the pasta is WOW), you also have a cute fountain, a lot of stores and at Christmas, it’s absolutely beautiful. They play Christmas music och have all the lights on and wow, it’s amazing. Plus, you have a shopping center right across the street if you need to take a break from the photoshoots or find more equipment.

22. The Grove
You also have The Grove, which has the same type of vibe as The Americana, but here you also have the Farmers Market with cute little stands.

23. Topanga Lookout
This is exactly what it’s called, a lookout place over Santa Monica, but the “ground” is also covered in graffiti, which makes cool shots for your IG. But you got to bring your hiking shoes because you need to hike there.

24. The Getty Villa
Mr. Getty decided to build this beautiful Villa to keep his art (even though most of it has been moved to the Getty Center now), you can still visit to see a lot of incredible architecture and especially the beautiful gardens where you can get amazing photos. Just book the tickets online, they’re free!

25. Boulon D’Amour
This cute little pink café is a perfect spot to take all of your Instagram-worthy pictures. You have a pink and flower-packed telephone box outside, and the inside is full of drinks and desserts to fill your stomach while deciding on where to go next.

26. El Matador Beach
Another classic LA Instagrammable Place is El Matador Beach. It’s an amazing spot to take pictures, with cave-like rocks, which make the most beautiful backgrounds during sunset. Maybe you’re looking for a place to propose? This beach has been the spot for that more than a few times.

27. Universal Citywalk Hollywood
If you don’t want to spend money or time inside the “real” Universal Studios, you can always take a stroll on Universal Citywalk, grab some food, or do some shopping in between. You can also visit Toothsome Chocolate Emporium.

29. Micheltorena Stairs
The Micheltorena Stairs are a classic photo spot in LA. The historic flight of stairs leads down to the beach and is a popular spot for exploring the coast, but mostly for the colorful stairs that make cute pictures.

30. Echo Park Swan Boats
In Echo Park you can ride a Swan boat. both during the day and night so you can pick when it fits your schedule. During the evening the swans will light up which makes great pictures for your IG. You can pick between a big swan with 5 people or a small one for two. Also, if you’re out with a furry friend, they’re allowed to ride on these swans too!

31. Stahl House
Located in the Hollywood Hills, the Stahl House is a modern structured house with great spots to check out the LA skyline. To be able to take your IG shots from this place, you will need to make a reservation and they recommend that you do it at least 6-8 weeks in advance.

32. The Container Yard (TCY)
If you’re looking for a place with a beautiful colorful view, the Container Yard is the place. Located on the outskirts of Downtown Los Angeles, this industrial park is filled with gorgeous architecture, towering cranes, and colorful shipping containers. There are multiple spots in this yard that can make the perfect shot for all of your Instagram pictures.

33. Pink Wall @ Paul Smith
This wall right here might be one of the most instagrammable places in Los Angeles, if not the whole of California. I’m almost sure that you’ve seen one photo or twelve of this pink wall on your IG feed through the years. This wall is being painted pink all the time so everyone can get that perfect pink shot, without any graffiti.

34. The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens
You can come here to go through the library or go through the gardens that in some places look like you’re walking in to meet Frodo. Either way, this place during a sunny day will be a great place to get a few photos, if you have a great dress for the occasion, that can’t hurt.

35. Palm Lined Streets
If there’s one thing I love about LA, it will always come down to these wonderful palm trees. So when I moved there, of course, I needed to find one of these streets filled with palm trees. There are a few of them across LA, but these two might’ve been some of the favorite ones I found. They look alike so it’s always great to have different options to choose from.

36. The Roosevelt Hotel
You might stay there if you can, or as we did, take the elevator up to the rooftop for some drinks and pictures by the pool and palm trees.

37. Elysian Park Swing
This place ain’t for the people who are afraid of heights. This secret Swing at Angels Point was cut down in 2020, but they have put up a new swing since then. Just type in “Secret Swing Angels Point” on your GPS and it will take you to the bottom, and then you have to hike up the trail to get to the top.

38. Flowers at Catch LA
Catch LA is a restaurant with a lot of food and drinks in West Hollywood. But what makes it an instagrammable photo spot you might ask? Their flower walls and trees, they are so beautiful and it’s a perfect place to have some lunch or dinner all dressed up, and while you wait for your food you can get those shots in. A heads up, always look at their opening hours. At the moment they’re only open for lunch during weekends and open at 6 pm during the week.

39. The Broad
This museum is beautiful to visit with its different rooms with lights and decorations that will make your IG pictures stand out. The Museum has free admission unless you’re going to a special exhibition.

40. Old Los Angeles Zoo
If you enjoy hiking and spooky abandoned places, Griffith Park Zoo, now known as Old Los Angeles Zoo, might be the place for you. It’s been closed since 1966, but they have since then put in benches for picnics and also multiple hiking trails around Griffith Park.

41. Beverly Hills sign
The Beverly Hills sign is technically in Beverly Hills, it’s just a few blocks off the main street, making it a great place to visit. There are a few parking spots behind it for you to park. And during all of the times I’ve been there, even though it’s one of the most instagrammable places in Beverly Hills, there are usually not too many people there, which is perfect.

42. Love Wall & Palm Trees Mural
Abbot Kinney has multiple wall murals, but this might be one of the most instagrammable murals of them all, the love wall by James Goldcrown.
If you keep walking down Abbott Kinney Blvd. you will have multiple wall murals to take pictures in front of, there’s also a rainbow crosswalk a little bit from this mural. Next to Harry Styles very florally Pleasing store.

Another cute wall art by London Kaye is located at the Paper Bag Princess and it’s different types and sizes of rainbows, peace signs, hearts, etc. to fit you, your loved ones, and also some for children.
