I love stock photos, and don’t get me started on free stock photos, I mean if you’re a blogger, freelancer, or creative person you can probably relate. When you’re writing your blog post, need to make a pin, an add or whatever it may be, you’d like to add some pictures. Because we all know that a picture is worth a thousand words.
Unfortunately everyone can’t afford to pay for every single photo on the web, that’s where free stock photos come into the picture. There are so many sites that have amazing high quality stock photos and they’re all free for commercial use.
What are stock photos?
Let’s just explain what stock photos are, for the ones who have no clue what I’m talking about. Stock photos are photographs that people have taken and put up on different sites. Some put it up on paid sites, some on free sites. On some sites, you don’t have to do anything in order to get your free image, but some pictures need attribution, which means that you need to mention either the website or the photographer’s name when you use the image. But it will always say that on the picture or in their licence.
And some, like most of the ones I’ve listed down here, you don’t have to do anything in order to use them.
So without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite free stock photo websites, shall we?
1. Unsplash
Unsplash is a blogger favorite.
You don’t have to make an account, but when you do, you can “heart” your favs and they will be saved into your account. You can also follow your fav photographers and chose the “following” tab on the home page and just see the photos from them.
Unsplash also lets you drag and drop in a photo of your own to find similar photos. They have a lot of photos of all the different niches. And another +, they have an app so you can find and save your favs when you’re on the go.

3. Picjumbo
My fav thing about this site (except for the amazing pictures) is that they have dark mode! I’m like the biggest fan of dark mode. My Instagram, Twitter and iPhone overall have dark mode. Might be a little wierd since my eyes aren’t the best haha.
Picjumbo isn’t a site with millions of photos, because it’s mostly all taken by the owner, Victor. But let me tell you, this site is really quality over quantity. Amazing pictures and you get all the photos for free. You can become a Picjumbo member, and you will get 10k+ extra photos and also 50+ pictures EVERY MONTH to your email.
Picjumbo also have different functions, such as a “buy me coffee” function where you can support them by donating some money. Another function is the “download all photos” function where you can download over 4000 pictures in one single click instead of having to download every photo one by one.
